Low-level-laser-therapie werd en wordt nog wel eens tot vormen van alternatieve geneeskunde gerekend. Ik weet niet precies waarom, want als je in Pubmed, de grootste database voor medische artikelen, kijkt dan zijn er met het keyword low-level-laser en RCT al meer dan 400 studies te vinden. En deze vorm van laser-therapie wordt zelfs met infrarood-coherent-licht toegepast in serieuze studies die kijken naar de effecten bij behandeling van herseninfarcten.
[1][2] Ook wordt gekeken naar de effecten van intravasculaire laser bij patienten met ernstige angina pectoris. [3] Verder kan je met deze vorm van laserlicht veel goeds doen binnen de dermatologie, zoals bijvoorbeeld acne-littekens corrigeren. [4][5] Zelfs ontstekingen in de mond door chemokuren kunnen met lage intensiteit laserlicht verminderen. [6] Zo zijn er vele toepassingen voor laserlicht. Deze behandeling is eigenlijk gewoon regulier. Maar verwar deze vorm van behandelen niet met biofotonen-therapie, want dat is je reinste kwakzalverij en heeft op de IOCOB-indicator een rood stoplicht.
