Op het gebied van de ooracupunctuur zijn er minder studies te vinden, dan over traditionele lichaamsacupunctuur. Toch zijn er in de belangrijkste medische tijdschriften in de Engelse taal 49 artikelen te vinden over ooracupunctuur. We geven een paar resultaten weer:
Ooracupunctuur is even effectief dan een rustgevend middel bij ingrepen door tandartsen: auricular acupuncture and intranasal midazolam were similarly effective for the treatment of dental anxiety.
